Network Management

Description

DAMM TetraFlex® Network Management

The DAMM Network Management is a software package included in the TetraFlex® software.
It is installed on each node either BSC412 (indoor system) or SB421/SB422/BS422 (outdoor systems). The Network Management connects to the system via one node via the LAN network interface and can be run either on a separate machine or started via remote desktop session directly on the node. Network Management establishes connection to all nodes of a multi-site system and parameters can be configured to any of the nodes, no matter to which node you are connected.
The Network Management software is dongle controlled, but can be executed with any DAMM TetraFlex® dongle.

The Network Management functions include Network Status, Node Status, List of all Nodes and gateways within the network, List of Log Servers as well as a BSC list and the subscriber register. Network Management also provides access to the OM commands, a list of all gateways and shows system statistic.
The operator can configure and maintain subscribers, groups, organisations and subscriber profiles. He also can setup the most important radio cell parameters for the whole network.
Such as frequencies, offsets, timeouts, neighbor cells, air interface encryption, etc.
Even during operation frequencies can be changed or transceivers can be blocked as well as the system can be extended or upgraded only with minimal outage periods. These updates can either be realised network wide or individually per node.
Furthermore alarms are presented and can be acknowledged as well as the amount of group calls, individual calls and registered terminals within the system are presented. Alerts are also presented with a tone, if speakers are connected to the PC or audio forwarding is enabled via remote desktop.
Beside of that there is an online Google map window available inside the Network Management showing the position and color code of the alarm states of each node in one window. This function requires internet access.

Note: Network Management on a separate PC activates an instance (unit) in IP multicast group so if your IP network and routers are designed to handle a certain limited number of instances (usually 128, 256, etc.) in a multicast group than system may be limited by this.
