DAMM Dispatcher Light
Description
DAMM TetraFlex® Dispatcher Light
The DAMM TetraFlex Dispatcher Light is a scaled-down version of the full DAMM TetraFlex Dispatcher. It is a cost-efficient Windowsbased solution to ensuring cross-company communication between all employees whether in the field with a TETRA radio or a smartphone running the DAMM TetraFlex PTT app or in the office with a PABX phone or a dispatcher.
The Dispatcher Light is a software package included in the DAMM TetraFlex software, allowing you to be instantly up and running with dispatcher functionalities. It connects to the DAMM TetraFlex network via a terminal gateway. For file transfer and status SDS messages, connection to a HTTP service on the IP backbone is needed.
It is possible to set up multiple connection profiles and user profiles in the same Dispatcher Light. This enables monitoring of different networks using the same application.
Functions and features
Group calls
From the Group calls view you can perform and monitor broadcast and group calls. Communication is only possible with groups that have been attached in the Group calls view. The maximum number of groups that can be attached at any one time is eight.
The Dispatcher contains a Master PTT function, which can be used for easily assigning the master PTT (push-to-talk) function to one or two groups. It is possible to configure a function key (e.g. F2) as the Master PTT for ease of operation.
Individual call functions
You can perform individual simplex and duplex calls to and from other dispatchers, TETRA, DMR and analogue radios as well as smartphones running the DAMM TetraFlex PTT app.
Note: The Dispatcher Light can handle a maximum of two simplex
simultaneous voice calls or one duplex call.
SDS and file options
Use the SDS function in the Messaging view to quickly send and receive SDS messages and files, including status messages, with or without requests for delivery confirmation and consumed reports. Note that file transfer and status messages – with the exception of emergency status SDS – require connection to the HTTP service.
Dialling format and contact storage
The Dispatcher Light does not contain a phonebook. However, it does store the group and individual SSIs and user numbers entered into it so that over time a potentially long list of contacts will be built up. The Dispatcher will then look up this list as soon as you start typing in an SSI or user number.
Audio paths for easy distinction
Different audio paths can be set up for ten different types of audio events and alerts (e.g. duplex call, alarm, discreet listening). These audio paths are easily identified by icon and colour. Additionally, each audio path can be set up for playing back in both ears or only the left or right ear. These configuration options make it easy for dispatching personnel to distinguish between different call types and callers.
